Fairfield police, Secret Service investigate ATM skimming operation

Posted: Updated:
FAIRFIELD -

Police in Fairfield are assisting the United States Secret Service in an ongoing skimming investigation.

A skimming device was found over the weekend at the People's United Bank ATM on Black Rock Turnpike.

It was found at the door to enter the lobby of the ATM.

Small cameras were also found on the side of the ATMs to record customers pin numbers.

The Secret Service collected the devices so that information did not find its way to the thieves.
