Police say a body was recovered from the Bridgeport Harbor early Saturday morning.

Investigators say the body of a man was found floating in the water near the ferry dock around 3 a.m.

They say it was clear to first responders right from the start that it was a recovery operation, and not a rescue effort.

Investigators say they believe the body had been in the water for some time due to its condition.

Police say they may not be able to release the identity of the victim until the medical examiner has conducted an autopsy.
