FAIRFIELD -

A New Canaan woman was honored in Fairfield Sunday for her years of service to Best Buddies International, an organization dedicated to creating and promoting opportunities for people with intellectual and development disabilities.

The ceremony was held at Milk Craft on Post Road and honored 28-year-old Sarah Sykes for her volunteer efforts in the organization.

“The program is doing things for people all around the state,” said one member of the organization.

Organizers say Sykes has volunteered in the group’s high school, college and citizens' program.
