Connecticut lawmakers and residents are looking to Washington for the next step now that Republican efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act have collapsed.

President Donald Trump declared Tuesday he's going to "let Obamacare fail" after the Republicans' effort to rewrite the 2010 health care overhaul imploded in Congress. 

John Wygal, a Norwalk insurance agent, acknowledges the Affordable Care Act may be problematic for those who don't receive subsidies and have seen their premiums go up. Wygal says the GOP health care bill falls short in terms of increasing the number of people who may have health insurance and lowering costs.

Wygal says now that the bill has failed, he hopes lawmakers can come together on a solution.

Despite the failure, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the Senate will vote sometime in the near future on repealing Obamacare.
