Milford man accused of trying to kill parents

A Milford man was arrested for allegedly trying to kill his parents.
According to police, 27-year-old Patrick Kiraly showed up at his parents' house on the west side of Milford early Saturday morning and started arguing with his mother about the care of his 2-year-old child.
Police say the situation escalated when Kiraly punched his mother in the face and choked her. They say Kiraly's father heard her cries for help and tried to break it up by coming at his son with a chair, and Kiraly pulled out a pocket knife and threatened his father.
The mother was quoted in a police report saying that if the father had not stepped in, the son "would have killed me." The report also states that Kiraly, a single parent, has suffered with mental health issues and has been taking medication.
Police say the grandparents have taken custody of the child.
Kiraly is not allowed anywhere near his parents or child and is being held on $250,000 bond.
