Man accused in May murder appears in court

The man accused of shooting his friend in the head and then leaving him for dead was back in court today on murder charges.
Deondre Bowden was arrested earlier this month for the May 24 murder of Lawane Toles on Railroad Avenue in Bridgeport.
Bowden is also accused of stealing Toles’ car and possessions.
Toles' family says they want justice to be served.
“I feel I'm a little bit at peace because I got to lay eyes on his killer,” says his cousin Lashona Hill. “I can see the guilt in him. It's going to take me some time to forgive him for what he did to my cousin. My cousin was an awesome guy. Loved to smile through thick and thin. And he really just took a good dude from our family and I just want to see justice served.”
Bowden's next court appearance is scheduled for August.
