Bridgeport police said Saturday they arrested a suspect in connection with the city's 14th homicide of the year.
Officials suspect 38-year-old Jayvell Washington of killing of 37-year-old Chaz Rogers, of Stratford, and hope to charge him with murder soon.
Washington is also facing an attempted murder charge in the shooting last week of 48-year-old Eugene Rogers, Chaz Rogers's brother.
Police say the cases are all connected because the people involved are "all tied together by a set of criminal circumstances involving guns and drugs."
Police say Washington is being held on $500,000 bond.
