One of the two boaters who was rescued near the New Haven Harbor Saturday has died.

Efforts to save the men by the Coast Guard happened around 10:30 p.m.

Their boat hit a buoy and both of them were thrown into the water.

One boater was able to swim back and call for help. The other didn't survive.
