Stratford detective involved in crash along Main Street

STRATFORD -

Two people were hospitalized - including a Stratford detective - after a serious car crash Tuesday morning.

It happened just before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Stratford Avenue.

According to police, a Stratford detective headed to a non-emergency call was headed south on Main Street when a woman traveling westbound on Stratford Avenue crashed into him.

News 12 is told the detective involved was treated and released from the hospital. The woman was more seriously injured, but is expected to be OK.

Police remained at the scene of the crash for more than six hours to investigate.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
