Residents facing eviction share stories with officials

Dozens of Bridgeport residents facing eviction are sharing their stories with state and local leaders Sunday, with some just days away from being homeless.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal says the country is facing a public housing crisis that is only going to get worse because President Donald Trump's administration is proposing a 30 percent cut in funding for public housing.

That topic is tied into the chronic eviction problem because evictions raise the need for public housing.

One man Sunday says he had a heart transplant and is grateful to be alive, but he will soon be homeless - a situation he never thought he would be facing.
