Police: Pedestrian fatally struck by car in Norwalk

Police say a pedestrian died after being struck by a car last night in Norwalk.

They say the incident happened around 9:10 p.m. Saturday near Main Street.

According to police, a gray Mazda was heading southbound on Main Street when it hit a man heading westbound. They say an officer came across the accident, spotted the driver of the car at the scene and the victim on the ground with multiple injuries.

The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Investigators have not yet released the name of the victim.

They say the driver is currently not facing any charges as they continue to investigate.
