Fairfield American is moving on to the U.S. semifinals of the Little League World Series after defeating New Jersey by a 10-run mercy rule 12-2.
There was a lot of excitement at the Colony Grill in Fairfield, as well as some nerves at times. The place got pretty loud at times, including in the first inning, when the team took a five-run lead.
Colony Grill has been the place to watch Fairfield American for those unable to see the team in person, with staff sporting team shirts to show their pride.
The two teams originally faced off in their first game of the LLWS, with Fairfield American winning a nail-biter 7-6.
The crowd included young boys who look up to the players, as well as friends of the team members and relatives.
Fairfield American's next game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
