Bridgeport barbershop offering free haircuts to school kids

Posted: Updated:
BRIDGEPORT -

A Bridgeport barbershop did its part Thursday to make sure kids feel good about themselves before heading back to class.

Northeast Barbershop gave out free cuts to elementary and middle school students.

One mom, Melissa Diaz, called it a great gesture that meant everything to the kids who might not be able to afford it.

The barbershop says the free cuts have become an annual tradition as a way to give back to the community.
