Hurricane Harvey taking aim at Texas

Posted: Updated:
TEXAS -

Coastal evacuations are underway as Texas prepares for Hurricane Harvey.

It's expected to make landfall late Friday night or early tomorrow morning about an hour northeast of Corpus Christi.

The National Hurricane Center upped Harvey to a Category 2 storm.

Fueled by warm Gulf of Mexico waters, the storm is projected to hit land as a major Category 3 hurricane.

Harvey could also bring heavy rain to eastern Louisiana, including New Orleans.
