Police: Father kills wife, daughter and himself in Pound Ridge home
Police say a man killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life in a double murder-suicide in Pound Ridge.
According to state police, the deceased were found in their home on Fox Hill Road around 11 a.m. Friday by a woman coming to clean the house.
Investigators say Steven Dym, 56, killed his wife, Loretta, and his 18-year-old daughter, Caroline, before killing himself. Police say the bodies were found in a second-floor hallway.
Police say a gun was recovered at the scene.
According to police, there were domestic incidents at the home in the past. Neighbors say the family was in the process of selling the home.
Caroline Dym was going into her senior year of high school. The couple's son - who was away at college in California at the time of the incident - is the family's lone surviving child.
Police say the results from the autopsies will provide an exact cause of death, but getting those results will take weeks.
