Landlord surrenders in shooting over rent money

A landlord has turned himself in to authorities after an apparent dispute over money turned violent Monday night.
Authorities say landlord Robert Grant, 43, and a tenant were involved in a heated argument about rent around 10:30 p.m. outside 3832 Amundson Ave. As the quarrel turned worse, police say Grant pulled out a gun and shot his tenant in the chest.
Police sources identify the tenant as 52-year-old Michael Taylor, who suffered injuries to the ribs and lungs. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where representatives say he is in fair condition.
Grant turned himself in Tuesday morning. He faces attempted murder, assault and other charges.
