Ex-tennis star, Fairfield native testifies against police officer

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK -

A former top-ranked tennis pro and Fairfield native took the stand at the disciplinary hearing of an NYPD officer who took him down during a violent arrest.

James Blake testified Wednesday that the officer never identified himself as NYPD and never apologized after he realized his mistake.

The officer tackled Blake outside a Manhattan hotel in 2015 after mistakenly thinking Blake was a suspect police were looking for.
