A parking enforcement agent and a police officer saved a bocce player's life in Stratford after he fell unconscious Tuesday and needed resuscitation.
Matt White says he heard a group of men screaming at the bocce court at the Baldwin Center, and he ran over to find that a man named Louie collapsed and stopped breathing.
White, along with police Officer Maria McAvoy, used an automated external defibrillator and CPR to revive the victim, who suffered a heart attack.
White says when he first heard the men shouting, he thought they were mad about the parking ticket he was writing. Then he realized what was happening and took action. He adds that when he got the parking post, he hoped he would have a chance to use his EMT training.
