A crash between two tractor-trailers on Interstate 95 sent both trucks rolling down a 100-foot embankment and both drivers to the hospital Friday morning, according to state police.
The trucks, one carrying a shipment of Poland Spring water and the other loaded with wood chips, collided before 7 a.m. in the southbound lanes between exits 41 and 42 on the border of West Haven and Orange.
Police say the Department of Consumer Protection condemned the water, and it won't be sold to the public.
The right lane remained closed until about 11 a.m. because of debris scattered across the road, police say.
Both drivers went to Yale-New Haven Hospital and are expected to be OK.
"Nothing that is life threatening that has been made aware to us at this point," says Sgt. Rob Derry.
