Police in Norwalk have charged a man from Waterbury in a cold-case homicide that happened nearly seven years ago.
Ibo Boone, 30, is in court for the first time today after he was arrested Tuesday in Waterbury.
According to police, Michael "Mizzy" Robinson was fatally shot near south Main and Grove streets back in October of 2010.
Boone was 23 years old at the time of the homicide, which police say was related to street gang activity.
Police say while a case may be considered cold, it's never closed.
In addition to a lengthy investigation, information on Robinson's death was featured on the Department of Corrections cold case playing cards.
Officials say a variety of factors played into Boone's arrest.
"It’s been a lot of work by our detectives,” says Lt. Terry Blake. “Certainly our goal is to bring justice to the family and to the victim. And in this case, we believe that's been done."
News 12 Connecticut spoke with Robinson's grandfather off camera, and he says while he's relieved an arrest has been made, it doesn't bring his grandson back.
He says now his family will just wait and see how all of this plays out in the courts.
