The city of Bridgeport is preparing for an influx of people from Puerto Rico, which was recently devastated by Hurricane Maria.
"I've been getting a lot of phone calls from constituents, a lot of people are already planning to have family come over to Bridgeport," says state Rep. Chris Rosario.
Officials are not sure of the numbers but say the city could see the biggest impact in its schools.
"If a hundred families came in with two or three children each, you're looking at 200 or 300 people looking to integrate in our schools," says Mayor Joe Ganim.
Despite the challenges, Rosario and Ganim say they are ready to provide support out of necessity.
"They'll rely mostly on families, but as an entity, we want to be warm, we want to be receptive, we want to be supportive," says Rosario.
