Police say they've arrested a Bridgeport man accused of breaking into a co-worker's home and stabbing her boyfriend in Stratford.
They say 22-year-old Juan Santiago had an obsession with his female colleague and broke into her home on Hollister Street Monday around 10 p.m.
According to investigators, Santiago climbed through a bedroom window and stabbed the woman's boyfriend twice. He then hit the woman, fled on a bicycle and threw the knife in the street, police say.
Next, according to authorities, Santiago called police to tell them he was in an altercation. They arrested him in Bridgeport.
"The boyfriend suffered a wound to his hand. They continued to fight and tried to get him out of the house and then the boyfriend was stabbed in the abdomen," says Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.
Police say the boyfriend is being treated at Bridgeport Hospital and that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Santiago was arraigned Tuesday and is being held on $250,000 bond. He is due back in court in two weeks.
