STAMFORD -

An iconic hot dog company has taken its business to Stamford with a grand opening of their new stand.

Walter's Hot Dogs opened in Harbor Point Thursday, the company's first location in Connecticut, and second overall along with their original spot in Mamaroneck, New York.

The fourth-generation business sells house-made hot dogs, fries and desserts.

New items on sale in Stamford include their pretzel dog and soft-serve ice cream.

The new location comes after a demand to owners for a location in Connecticut.

"It's a booming market, we love the sense of community and if anyone knows our location in

"Mamaroneck, it is in a residental area," says Walter's business developer Gene-Christian Baca. "It has a real sense of community and we feel that being established in Harbor Point brings that same type of community feel as well."
