NFL owners, players have 'positive' meeting; still no policy on national anthem
NFL owners and players had what both sides are calling a "positive" meeting on social issues.
But still, there is no policy regarding the national anthem.
The league will continue to let players kneel or sit during the anthem without a penalty.
The league is going to help support some of the causes that demonstrating players are targeting, including reform of the criminal justice system.
"We feel like that’s the most American thing to do is to use your platform and influence and with the stage that we have as NFL players and as a league in general we feel a real responsibility to our country to our communities so we're working through ways to really have long lasting real change," says NFL safety Malcom Jenkins.
The sides say they'll keep talking and working together.
