Long Island nonprofit opens thrift store in Patchogue

A nonprofit organization looking to give support to Long Islanders in need has opened a thrift store in Patchogue.
"Angels of Long Island" has opened the store and community center on 250 East Main St. The motto of the nonprofit is "neighbors helping neighbors."
The business started as a Facebook page about two years ago by Debbie Loesch and her daughter Britney. They take donations from those in the community and then provide them to others who may need clothes, furniture or other essential items.
Patricia Peterson volunteers with the organization. She says the Angels helped her niece, a mother of three who was struggling.
"She helped them with food, clothing, shoes…many things," she Peterson told News 12
The new space was acquired through generous donations and a GoFundMe campaign. Anyone looking to donate to “Angels of Long Island” can call 631-803-6775.
