Funeral services held for 'Bishop the Barber' 2 weeks after slaying

Funeral services were held Saturday for the owner of a Bridgeport barbershop who was gunned down while trying to help a young man.
Community members paid their respects to 31-year-old Deon Rodney at Refuge Temple Church of God, located on Main Street.
As News 12 reported, Rodney was an innocent bystander who was shot to death two weeks ago when a masked gunman burst into Just Right Cuts on Park Avenue, targeting someone else.
Saturday's service was frequently interrupted by cries of anguish. Juliet Taylor, a friend of Rodney's and a chaplain's assistant said she was deeply touched by the funeral.
"…He was so young and so vibrant and in such a short time, he touched so many lives in the community," she said.
Rodney, who spent most of his life in Jamaica before coming to the U.S., was known as "Bishop the Barber" and was remembered as a beloved community member with a deep caring for others.
Police say the shooting was captured on camera and they are close to making an arrest.
