The D'Andrea Group, owners of 12 Dunkin’ Donuts locations throughout Connecticut, held its annual Turkey Donut Drive.
The event was in partnership with the Connecticut Food Bank in an effort to fill up the shelves this holiday season.
For every "Turkey Donut" sold, the group will donate one pound of turkey.
According to the food bank, it is grateful for partnerships that allow it to help reduce hunger.
"It raises awareness about the need that we have this time of year,” says Paul Shipman. “So many people struggle with hunger. What we're able to do at this time of year is really special, to help everybody celebrate this holiday. We strive to make as many turkeys available as possible."
The group hopes to donate over 7,000 pounds of holiday turkey to local families in need.
