Community crime-watch program launching in Dyker Heights

A community crime-watch program is planning to start in Dyker Heights.
The Dyker Heights Civic Association president has decided to start a Dyker Heights Crime Watch program after recent issues with graffiti, drug dealing and car break-ins in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Community members who sign up to participate in the crime-watch program are expected to share anything they see or hear that seems suspicious with the rest of the group.
The president says this is not the type of community watch program where people are on patrol.
An email will be going out to Dyker Heights residents in the next couple of weeks for residents who are interested in the program and how they can get involved.
