BRIDGEPORT -

Some major overtures have happened toward the city of Bridgeport by the tribes that run the state's two casinos.

The Mohegan tribal nation announced it has entered into a partnership with the Webster Bank Arena to bring more events to Bridgeport.

Mayor Joe Ganim welcomes the move which he says will help make Bridgeport an entertainment destination.

The announcement came the same day the Mohegan and Pequot tribes wrote an open letter to state officials, saying they would like to be part of any discussions that could lead to a casino in Bridgeport.
