Bridgeport hosts its first holiday pop-up market

A pop-up market in Bridgeport Wednesday aims to help shoppers cross off a few items on their holiday shopping lists.
More than 40 vendors from the city and surrounding communities set up, hawking merchandise ranging from children's toys to clothing and wreaths.
Mayor Joe Ganim and members of both the Office of Housing and Community Development and the Small and Minority Business Resource Office helped launch the event Wednesday morning.
Officials say it's the first such market they've put together. Vendors say they have a tough time selling stuff this time of year because festivals, where they sell their goods, take place in the summer.
