Vigil held for victim of Monroe hit-and-run

An Elizabeth woman and her friends held a vigil Saturday night at an intersection in Monroe where her husband was killed in a hit-and-run two weeks ago.
News 12 reported that Jose Cedillo, of Elizabeth, was found lying next to his pickup truck at Applegarth Road and Forsgate Drive in Monroe on Nov. 30. They say another vehicle hit the 44-year-old and took off.
Leslie Cedillo, the victim's wife, says Jose was on his way to work at the time of the incident. The couple had been married for 12 years.
There are surveillance cameras at the intersection, but investigators with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office have not yet said if they captured a shot of the vehicle that hit Cedillo.
"I would hope that this person, whoever they are, would just turn themselves in," said Cedillo. “It's inconceivable to me how they can sleep at night."
Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County has offered a cash reward for information about the incident. A GoFundMe page has also been set up for the victim’s family.
