A man wearing a motorcycle helmet tried to abduct a 16-year-old girl at the Woodland Hills apartment complex in Torrington, police say.
The girl was walking home from school around 2:30 p.m. Monday when she opened her front door and found the man standing inside.
Police say the man attacked the girl from behind as if he was trying to kidnap her. No one else was home at the time. She screamed, and the suspect ran out the front door on foot. Police say the suspect got into her apartment through an unlocked window. The girl was unharmed.
In addition to the motorcycle helmet, police say the man was wearing red plaid pants and black sneakers.
Police ask anyone with information to call them at 860-489-2050.
