Police: Man bites Norwalk officer who tried to restrain him

STAMFORD -

A man from Stamford and a Norwalk police officer have both been hospitalized following a violent arrest.

It happened on New Canaan Avenue.

According to police, Daniel Velme, 20, was acting irrationally and possibly under the influence when police arrived on scene.

Police say Velme bit one of the arresting officers as they tried to restrain him.
