Apple has apologized to customers for slowing down older phones to prevent the batteries from shutting off. The company is offering replacement batteries for the iPhone 6 and later models for $29, a savings of $50. HTC and Motorola have said they don't slow down their older phones.

Binge watching has been good to Netflix. Its CEO Reed Hastings is set to receive $28.7 million in company stock options for 2018, plus an annual salary of $700,000. Netflix shares are up nearly 50 percent this year.
