Non-profit watchdog group not surprised by cold weather school closings

The "21st Century School Fund," a non-profit watchdog group that advocates for better school facilities, says it’s not surprised with the many school closings last week due to the cold temperatures.
Many schools around the country, including schools in Bridgeport, Trumbull and Fairfield, were closed following busted pipes and freezing heating units.
The group says often times, repairs are put off until it's too late and the country's schools are getting much older.
The American Society of Civil Engineers says one in four of schools in the U.S. are in fair or poor condition, and gives public schools an overall rating of "D+."
