Ansonia police arrest Texas teens in connection with fatal shooting

One of two Texas teens suspected of murder was arraigned Friday afternoon, after being arrested by Ansonia police Thursday night.
Police say they arrested a 17-year-old juvenile and her apparent 19-year-old boyfriend Giuseppe Briguglio in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in Strafford, Texas in the early hours of Jan. 1.
Briguglio was arraigned Friday, where News 12 reporters say he smiled and winked at the camera.
The teen waived extradition in court. Meanwhile, the female is being held in juvenile detention where she's awaiting extradition.
Police say the 17-year-old teen grew up in Shelton and attended Shelton High School before moving to Texas.
Texas authorities say they developed information through social media that the couple fled to Connecticut.
A joint investigation was held between agencies in Texas and police departments in Ansonia, Shelton and Derby.
Ansonia police were able to hone in on their location, a house on Beverly Drive in Asonia. They say they surrounded the home Thursday night, where those in the home were ordered to come out with their hands in the air.
