Bridgeport police seek public’s help as FBI joins 2015 slaying probe

BRIDGEPORT -

The FBI is aiding the investigation into a 2015 shooting that left a young Bridgeport father dead.

Surveillance video shows a man in a gray sweatshirt and camouflage pants enter a deli and gun down Hakeem "Sonny" Joseph, who was working inside.

"He left behind loved ones, and they deserve justice, as his memory deserves justice," says Bridgeport police Capt. Roderick porter. "And the community deserves justice. This happened in a community neighborhood."

Police say the video is of clear quality and that they are optimistic someone will recognize him -- but they say they believe the challenge is in getting a witness to step forward.

Anyone with information on the killer is asked to use the department's confidential tip line.
