Chef's Quick Tip: Delicious vanilla ice cream

Posted: Updated:
BRIDGEWATER -

Chef Nancy, from Gracious Gourmet in Bridgewater, shares how to take standard vanilla ice cream and make it something special.

Ingredients:

1 pint of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, softened slightly (This can be done by placing the ice cream in the microwave for 18 seconds at high)
½ cup The Gracious Gourmet Spiced Cherry Spread (or another cherry jam of your choice)
1 tablespoon cherry brandy or plain brandy (optional)

Procedure:

Put the ice cream in a large bowl. Add The Gracious Gourmet Spiced Sour Cherry Spread (or another cherry jam of your choice) and the optional brandy. Mix well to combine and work quickly so the ice cream does not melt.
Put into a plastic container, cover and freeze until firm.

Serves four

Optional:

Nice to top with additional The Gracious Gourmet Spiced Sour Cherry Spread (or another cherry jam of your choice), mini chocolate chips or sliced almonds.
