Stamford man charged with manslaughter in Greenwich overdose

Greenwich police say they've arrested a Stamford man on manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal heroin overdose over the summer.
They took Christopher Brokaw, 42, into custody Wednesday following a six-month investigation, according to authorities. Other charges against him include tampering with evidence, interfering with police and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Police say he delivered drugs to a 34-year-old Greenwich man in the Chickahominy section of town -- a delivery they say directly led to the recipient's overdose death.
Greenwich police say their community, like others across the state and country, is facing an opioid crisis. To fight it, they say they've cracked down on manufacturers, distributors and sellers of opiates. Separately, police say that all Greenwich officers will be equipped with the overdose-reversing drug Narcan within the next month or two.
Brokaw's attorney says his client was good friends with the victim and is mourning his death just like everyone else. He also disputes accusations that Brokaw tried to cover up the incident.
