Christie denies story about airport screening mishap

Former Gov. Chris Christie took to Twitter Thursday to deny a story that he was prevented from accessing a special area at Newark Liberty International Airport.
The Associated Press reported that Christie and his New Jersey State Police security detail were denied access to an area used by dignitaries for security clearance, and instead directed to the regular screening line for all passengers.
But the former governor says that this is not the case. Christie says that he and his security detail were led to one entrance by a Port Authority police officer, but that a Transportation Security Administration agent informed them that this was the wrong way to enter and directed them to a different area.
“Neither option was the way I entered airport as Governor(wrong in the story) and PAPD officer never denied me entry at either place (also wrong in story). He was a gentleman assisting my security detail. When he got the right info he took me to the right place. Pure fiction,” Christie said in a tweet.
Christie said that he was screened and admitted into the airport.
