News 12 talked with political experts and voters in western Connecticut about what they want to hear in President Donald Trump's first State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Dr. Chris Haynes, a political analyst at the University of New Haven, says focusing on the economy could eventually trickle down to this year’s race for governor.
“You have the 'Malloy Effect' to a certain extent. You have a state that has been dominated by Democrats more recently, and a state that has been suffering from a not-so-great economic situation and large deficits," says Dr. Haynes.
Voters from around the state told News 12 that they want to hear about Trump’s immigration policy, including a plan for dealing with so-called Dreamers, the group of undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as young children and who are now in legal limbo.
