Police: Speeding caused 3-car accident in Bridgeport
Police in Bridgeport say speeding was the cause of a three-car accident that sent one person to the hospital.
According to police, a red Nissan driving north on Wordin Avenue, near Wentfield Park, rolled over after hitting a parked car.
Investigators say the vehicle that was struck slammed into a second parked car.
Both parked cars were empty.
The driver of the Nissan had to be rescued.
"Fortunately, no one was hurt,” says Police Chief AJ Perez. “The operator of the vehicle that rolled over, it appears that he had been drinking, was intoxicated, taken to Bridgeport Hospital, checked out, he was then released on a summons."
Police say the Nissan and the car it struck were both totaled.
