Police in Trumbull are the second local police department to send out a warning on the apparent return of a frightening phone scam.
According to police, two different residents received calls about relatives who had been kidnapped.
Police say the caller threatens to hurt his victims unless he's given cash.
In both cases, the victims were able to reach their loved ones to determine the calls were fake.
As News 12 reported, Darien police say a resident was on her way to the bank last week when officers helped her determine she was the victim of a similar scam.
