Wilton crews work to fix potholes

Posted: Updated:
WILTON -

The Wilton Department of Public Works is trying to fix potholes plaguing town residents this winter.

This season has been rough on roads throughout Wilton, and DPW crews were out Monday checking problem areas.

Crews will have to wait until the roads are completely dry to avoid patching over water or ice.

The DPW says preparing for snowstorms and treating roads do take priority, which can delay its response to potholes.

Wilton recently implemented a new online system called SeeClickFix, through which residents can report concerns and the DPW can keep track of and fix problems as quickly as possible.

The department says it will continue looking through SeeClickFix and patching holes before the rain is expected to return later this week.

Since its introduction last fall, Wilton First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice says hundreds of residents have signed up for SeeClickFix.
