Bond set at $500K each for 3 Norwalk men in home invasion stabbing

Three Norwalk men accused of breaking into a house and stabbing a man in November were each held on $500,000 bond at their arraignment Tuesday.
Police arrested Luke Sweeney, Joseph Ponger and Michael Maiorino on assault and home invasion charges Friday, according to the arrest warrant.
Investigators say they broke into a Midwood Drive home in Norwalk last year to rob one of the occupants. In the process, one of them allegedly stabbed him nine times.
The man had several wounds to his hands, arms and legs, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to police.
"We believe this resident was specifically targeted," says Lt. Terry Blake, of the Norwalk Police Department. "It was not a random crime. However the other details of the incident are still under investigation."
Police say DNA evidence linked the suspects to the crime.
The case has been transferred to Stamford Superior Court.
