Milford police arrest suspect in Subway robbery

Milford police have arrested a suspect in connection with the robbery of the Subway restaurant at Broad and River streets.
Calls from the public led to police taking Kamil Zawisza, 31, into custody Thursday afternoon. He has been charged with robbery, larceny and possession of a controlled substance.
The robbery occurred just before 10 a.m. as the restaurant in the downtown section of Milford was preparing to open.
Police say the suspect demanded cash and implied that he had a weapon.
Police add that one employee had gone to a bank to get startup funds, so the suspect did not get away with much money.
Witnesses told police that they saw the man running to the nearby train station and that he may have boarded a train heading to Stratford.
Security cameras caught a picture of a suspect, which police shared on social media.
Police say that the victim of the robbery positively identified the suspect as the man who robbed the restaurant.
