Bridgeport man accused of stabbing ex appears in court

A Bridgeport man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Stratford appeared in court Friday.
According to court documents, in the days before the stabbing, Mark Febres stalked and threatened the mother of his child. On Thursday afternoon, the documents say he entered an apartment on West Broad Street and stabbed her in the face and hands.
Police say Febres fled the scene but was soon taken into custody.
The woman was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
Febres faces additional charges for violating an order of protection and because the alleged attack occurred in front of children.
His bond remains at $1.5 million for the charges from Thursday, on top of $50,000 for allegedly violating the order of protection.
