Amtrak repair work under NY Penn Station advances

News 12 New Jersey was able to get a sneak peek at the repair work Amtrak is doing to its tracks under New York Penn Station.
Crews have been working on Track 15 since the beginning of January. The work has updated all the concrete, drainage and plywood in the area.
Crews are now laying down and welding the new rails.
“I think people might see a smoother ride as they come into the station,” says Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams. “Overall updated reliability, whether they are coming in or out of the station.”
Work on Track 15 is expected to be finished by the end of the month. Crews will then start work on Track 18.
