Midwinter break kicked off for many students Monday, leaving parents scrambling to find ways to keep their kids entertained.

While some kids may plan to stay home playing video games, the adults in their lives might have something different planned.

For those interested in enjoying nature, several outdoor events will be offered during the week, including a treasure hunt at Pelham Bay Park. The hunt is expected to be a learning experience that teaches participants how to properly read a map.

The NYC Parks Department will hold similar free educational events all week.

For those who prefer to remain indoors, BronxMomma.com suggests events at Pink Princess Nails and Confetti Party Place.
