Town of Hempstead plans to overhaul snow plowing response

The Town of Hempstead is now promising to improve its snow plowing procedures.
News 12 has learned there were more than 3,600 complaints following the big snowstorm on Jan. 4.
Residents said plows were neglecting some neighborhoods.
Town Supervisor Laura Gillen blames a lack of coordination between town agencies and a technology glitch.
Gillen has outlined a new plan to update road maps in the town, consolidate oversight and increase command center staff to field residents' complaints.
